NACAB launches national volunteer recruitment campaign
The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux (NACAB) is launching a national volunteer recruitment campaign in a bid for 6,000 new volunteers.
NACAB chief executive David Harker said over a third of the volunteers that leave the Service each year move into paid work and full-time education and that the turnover of volunteers is due to the success of the CAB volunteering programme.
“Volunteer advisers get intensive training, develop new problem-solving skills and boost their confidence and employability,” said Mr Harker. “Our 20,000-strong army of volunteers are the lifeblood of the Service and many stay with us for years, others understandably move on into paid work – quite often within the CAB Service.”

Citizens Advice Bureaux across the country will be using this week’s annual Advice Week (3-10 September) to highlight the work they do and to make a plea for more volunteers.
