Measures of effectiveness of grant-making foundations

The Center for Effective Philanthropy in the USA has published Indicators of Effectiveness: Understanding and Improving Foundation Performance, indicating how foundations can measure the effectiveness of their grant-making.

How effective is a grant-making foundation’s giving? The Center for Effective Philanthropy has spent eight months looking for indicators that can help foundations understand and improve their grant-making performance. The results are now published in Indicators of Effectiveness: Understanding and Improving Foundation Performance.

In particular, the Center was looking for indicators that were simple, timely and inexpensive to collect.
