Peter Maple, head of fundraising at Leonard Cheshire, has responded to our article early today on e-mail signatures. “We’re already there!” he says, confirming that e-mail signatures work well as a campaigning tool. “Our online petition has generated nearly 1,500 signatures calling on the government to amend its proposals to charge disabled people for personal assistance.”
The successful signature reads: “Would you pay £11 for a bath? IF you agree that personal care should be free to disabled people, please visit www.leonard-cheshire.org/petition and lend your support!”
