Comic Relief says that £375,000 was donated online on Red Nose Day

Comic Relief has announced that it received £375,000 in online donations on Red Nose Day. This is slightly higher than the original figure of £330,000.

Press officer Naomi Proudlove told Professional Fundraising magazine that the online income had already passed the £400,000 mark and donations were still coming in.

Over £13.5 million was raised on the night, an increase on the £11 million raised in 1997. Comic Relief expected the 1999 total to surpass the £27 million raised in 1997.
