'Quiet crisis' of core funding

Securing core funding rather than project funding has always been difficult for many charities. Charities Aid Foundation reports that state funding sources have reduced by 6.7% in real terms, leading to what one charity chief executive has described as the “quiet crisis” of formerly reliable sources of income becoming more difficult to access or disappearing completely.
