Lightweight Donation Data Exchange

Open software standards are clearly developing within the non-profit sector. Following reports on 19 July of the Open Philanthropy eXchange (OPX), Social Ecology have today announced version 1.02 of the Lightweight Donation Data Exchange (LDDX). In co-operation with both non-profit and for-profit partners, Social Ecology first developed LDDX in Spring this year. It is designed to assist with the standard exchange of donation information.

Michael Gilbert of Social Ecology wishes to hand over the protocol to the non-profit community. “Although there is not yet a non-profit organisation offering to facilitate standards setting in general,” said Gilbert, “this release of LDDX is intended to hand over the protocol to the community most affected by it.”
