Cystic Fibrosis Trust implements IRIS CARE system

Howard Lake | 13 January 2009 | News

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust has implemented IRIS CARE, the integrated CRM system, to help it develop more effective communication with its supporters and key contacts, and manage fundraising events more efficiently.
It chose CARE from IRIS NFP Solutions following a selection process in Spring 2008. Integration was essential to ensure that it could operate cohesively with regional staff based around the UK. As a result it is using the ‘Smart Client’ version of IRIS CARE, which is specifically designed for organisations where remote access is required.
In phase two of the implementation, scheduled for Spring 2009, the Trust will be adopting the web-based ‘self service’ functionality which will allow supporters to access and amend their own details, mailing preferences and donation arrangements at their convenience.
The implementation process from signing to going live “took just six months” in this case, according to IRIS NFP. It included a series of consultations and user workshops where the key objectives for the system were evaluated. The charity chose to roll out the user training programme on a ‘train the trainer’ basis, so reduced the overall costs and ensured that charity staff had comprehensive knowledge of the system before it went live.
