CharityJOB is a new recruitment site for the voluntary sector that posts job vacancies for free. Set up in December 1999 the site does not sport too many vacancies just yet. There were only two listed on the fundraising page, for example, one being an introduction to the service and the other a test message.

The site accepts e-mailed notices in a range of areas including personnel, finance, IT, care, press, management, and fundraising.

In fact cleverly uses the free bulletin board system of to publish these notices to the Web, so it is not running its own database.

The site features a couple of adverts for other charity-related sites, including the Hunger Site and the DEC online donation site.

There are of course many free listing sites for charities. Since this site doesn’t offer other value-added recruitment services, to be useful to charities it will need to attract a good audience.
