Any person or project that has received National Lottery funding is eligible for nomination – more than 1,500 were nominated for last year’s awards.

This year’s awards opened last month for entries, and the individual nomination categories are:

Winners of these categories will receive a National Lottery Awards trophy and a £5,000 cash prize for their project.

Young Hero nominees have to be under 25 years of age and all suggestions must have been either funded by the National Lottery or be associated with a project which has received National Lottery funding.

As well as the individual categories, National Lottery funded projects from any sector are eligible to enter The National Lottery Project of the Year category. A total of 16 projects from across the UK will be shortlisted to take part in a public vote later in the year, competing to be crowned National Lottery Project of the Year.

Nominations can be made by tweeting @LottoGoodCauses or completing an entry form through the Lottery Good Causes website.
