A selection of fundraising art trails for 2022

From Snoopy to puffins, there’s a whole host of sculptures to look out for in art trail events across the UK this year, all raising funds for good causes.
With last year seeing hares, bears, cows, rockets and more brightening up towns around the UK, here’s a quick look at a selection of 2022’s trails.

Dog’s Trust & A Dog’s Trail
Dog’s Trust is this year presenting A Dog’s Trail across Cardiff and South Wales between 8 April and 5 June, with Wild in Art.
Featuring Snoopy, A Dog’s Trail will celebrate Dog’s Trust’s new rehoming centre in Cardiff with over 50 uniquely designed Snoopy sculptures to be seen around the city centre. Each one will be sponsored by a business or individual and have its own tale to tell, many showcasing Cardiff’s artistic talent while celebrating the vibrance, culture and creativity that the city has to offer.
Schools are also getting involved by adopting and designing their very own Snoopy sculptures.
At the end of the trail, the large Snoopy sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Dog’s Trust. The event is presented by Dogs Trust in partnership with Wild in Art and Peanuts, owners of Snoopy.
Hospice Isle of Man & The Big Splash
From May to September 2022, Hospice Isle of Man is unleashing its next Wild in Art Trail on the Isle of Man.
The Big Splash will see a large pod of individually designed dolphin sculptures placed around the Isle of Man for everyone to see and enjoy. The sculpture will form a 12-week trail around the island’s most spectacular coastal locations and open spaces.
With its 2019 trail Wallabies Gone Wild raising more than £250,000 at auction, Hospice Isle of Man is keen to make the 2022 art trail an even bigger success. As well as the large dolphin sculptures, there will again be smaller dolphin sculptures to be created as part of the education programme.
St Michael’s Hospice & Follow That Duck 2022
For ten weeks from June the streets, gardens and beaches of Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill on Sea will be brought to life by a flock of 30 rubber duck sculptures.
St Michael’s Hospice’s Follow that Duck trail is again a Wild in Art event and will see each giant duck hand decorated with individually created designs, many of which will showcase the wealth of artistic talent within East Sussex. In addition, rubber ducklings will also be making their nests inside local shops and businesses.
Highland Hospice & The Great Heilan Coo Trail
2022 will see a herd of Hospice Highland Coos hit the streets for Highland Hospice’s second Highland-wide art trail. From April to August 2022, 22 Heilan Coos will be grazing in every town that has a Highland Hospice Shop. There will also be a coo scavenger hunt with mini-coos hidden in each of its 14 shops.
The hospice has once again joined forces with local wildlife sculptor, Scott Gleed, to create the coos. Each coo and mini-coo will be sponsored by a local business and painted by a local artist, selected through an open competition.
Burton and District Mind & The Big Burton Carousel
Burton and District Mind has been selected by The Big Burton Carousel as its chosen charity for this year’s sculpture trail, which will see 30 sculptures of galloping funfair styled horses designed by artists left in iconic and popular parts of the Burton Upon Trent area for 10 weeks starting from June 2022.
This is Burton’s second art trail and follows 2019’s Swan Trail. It’s being brought to the town by Making Trails and East Staffordshire Borough Council, and supported by a team of artists, businesses and local organisations.
Yorkshire charities & Puffins Galore!
From July until November this year forty 1.5 metre tall Puffins are to be located along the East Yorkshire coast and around the East Riding.
Each one will be sponsored with the trail benefitting Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Hornsea Inshore Rescue, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Royal National Life Boat Institution. At the end of Puffins Galore! all the Puffin sculptures will be sold, either to their sponsors or at a grand charity auction. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to the four charities.
One for 2023 – St Barnabas Hospice & its HeART Trail
St Barnabas Hospice’s HeART Trail has seen 13 corporate partners offer their backing in the first few months.
With more companies requesting to be part of what’s thought to be Lincolnshire’s first countywide event of its kind, St Barnabas Hospice has taken the decision to extend the planning period and launch the live trail in summer 2023.
Partners and sponsors already on board are Lincolnshire Showground, Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, Waterside Shopping Centre, Daniel Charles Construction, Branston Ltd., Lincolnshire Freemasons, Chestnut Homes, Jacksons Workwear, Distract, S. Lyon & Son Haulage, Gelder Group, Hildreds Centre and Lincolnshire Coop.
