The ten charities were chosen from more than 350 organisations and win for their work improving health and wellbeing in their communities.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the GSK IMPACT Awards, and their partnership with health and care charity The King’s Fund. The awards recognise the work of small and medium-sized charities working to improve health and wellbeing in the UK.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the GSK IMPACT Awards, the prize has been increased so that the winners each receive £40,000 in unrestricted funding, a film and other promotional materials to promote the charities, as well as access to training and development activities estimated to be worth £9,500. At the award ceremony in London in June, an overall winner will be announced. The winner will receive an extra £10,000, making a total of £50,000. Ten runners up will also each receive £4,000.

As with previous years, there are ten winners of the 2022 GSK IMPACT Awards:

A key aim of the GSK IMPACT Awards programme is to develop leaders in the charity sector, and all winners are invited to build on their success and take part in a tailored leadership development programme run by The King’s Fund. Following this, they are invited to join the GSK IMPACT Awards Network, a UK-wide network of more than 110 previous award winners that work together to develop leaders, find new ways of working and provide mutual support.

Katie Pinnock, Director UK Charitable Partnerships at GSK, said:

“We are immensely proud to be celebrating 25 years of the GSK IMPACT Awards. Since we launched the programme in 1997, nearly £7.7m has been awarded in support of 518 of the most impressive health and care charities in the UK. The Awards recognise innovation, leadership and resilience.  Our 25-year partnership with The King’s Fund is testament to the commitment from both organisations to support the health and wellbeing of some of the UK’s most vulnerable people. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the winners of the 2022 GSK IMPACT Awards.”

Lisa Weaks, Assistant Director, Leadership and Organisational Development, at The King’s Fund, said:

“For 25 years the GSK IMPACT awards have been a mark of excellence in the voluntary sector. We are proud to support the ten winning charities, all of which have gone above and beyond to respond to the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. The support provided by charities for people’s health and wellbeing has never been more important, and we were inspired by the many memorable examples of new services and innovative initiatives the winners have developed in response to the changing needs of the people and communities they serve. We were also really impressed by the strength of leadership shown by the winning organisations, and we hope they will benefit from the development and support opportunities offered by these awards.”

Applications for the awards opened last summer, and the 2023 GSK IMPACT Awards will open for applications in July 2022.
