Bristol Animal Rescue Centre invites people to turn poo into pounds on Valentine’s Day

Bristol Animal Rescue Centre is taking a different approach this Valentine’s Day, and asking people to turn poo into pounds.

In acknowledgement of the fact that Valentine’s Day is not full of love, hearts and romance for everyone, and can be a bit of a poo day, it’s asking people to dump on their exes or whoever has wronged them, and turn that poo into pounds for animals in need.

For £5, the animal rescue centre will take the name of that person, and put it in a litter tray for its cats to do their business on.

Bristol Arc has created a form to fill in, and only first names, nicknames or initials can be submitted. Once in the litter tray, the charity will take a picture and share the evidence on social media. The hashtag being used is #ItsNotMeItsPoo. More than one name may be in tray – because there’s only so much cats can do in one day. And of course, no cat will be forced into the tray, so there’s no guarantee names will be pooped on.

Back in 2015, another animal-related cause, Bronx Zoo, ran a Valentine’s special inviting people to name a cockroach after their ex.

And, in other 2022 Valentine’s Day poo news, Oxfam GB is also offering poo as gifts – although in a different way. For last minute gifts it suggests one of its Unwrapped charity giftcards, with gifts including a loo, food for a family, or even a pile of poo.
