Expanded Legacy Futures Awards programme opens for entries

The 2022 Legacy Futures Awards programme offers bursary awards to celebrate and nurture talent in the legacy and in-memory sector.
For this its second year, the awards programme has been expanded to recognise and reward six winners across three categories, up from three bursary winners in 2021.
Applications are open from today (10 January) until 17:00 GMT on 31 March.

Winners are offered a package of legacy qualifications, training, mentoring or consultancy expertise, designed to further their development and accelerate innovation in the field.
The award categories are the Crispin Ellison Bursary Award for legacy administration (two bursaries towards Institute of Legacy Management training), the Legacy Future Leader Award (three mentoring packages with legacy and in-memory experts from Legacy Futures), and the Legacy Futures Innovation Award (an organisational award offering a dedicated innovation workshop to bring new ideas into practice).
Crispin Ellison Bursary Award
Named in memory of former Legacy Link Director Crispin Ellison (main image), who dedicated his career to advancing the legacy profession, this bursary award is open to UK applicants working or volunteering in the field of legacy administration and management. The bursary will be offered to two winners, consisting of a training package from the Institute of Legacy Management (ILM). This could cover the cost of attaining the Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA) or £500 towards other ILM training.
Legacy Future Leader Award
Open to applicants from the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, the Future Leader award will highlight and invest in three future legacy leaders – those who are new to a legacy or in-memory giving role (within the last 36 months). The award package offers six months of mentoring with experts within the Legacy Futures group.
The Legacy Futures Innovation Award
Aiming to promote and drive innovation globally, this Award is open to any not-for-profit organisation in the UK, Europe, North America and Australia with a new idea to share for innovating with legacies or in-memory giving. The judges will be looking for ideas that not only benefit one organisation but the wider sector, such as solving a particular challenge, reaching a new audience or developing a new product. The Award winner will receive consultancy support from Legacy Voice, who will deliver a design thinking workshop to bring the idea to life.
The judging panel includes Lena Vizy of legacygiving.eu, Lucinda Darby of Remember A Charity and two award winners from 2021; Emma Bowles at Ellenor Hospice and Carolyn Jones at the University of Liverpool.
