Even though the Ticket Resale Scheme for the Wimbledon Championships has been paused for a second year due to COVID-19, HSBC has confirmed it will still provide its matched funding to support the Wimbledon Foundation.

HSBC has supported the Ticket Resale Scheme since 2008, matching the funds raised from resold tickets. It is part of its wider support for local communities. The funds are used to support local causes across the UK. They are administered by the Wimbledon Foundation, the official charity of The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and The Championships.

Since 2008 the partnership has raised £3.6 million from ticket resales, including £1.78m from HSBC.

The Championships 2021

While The Championships has been approved as part of the Government’s Events Research Programme, with capacity beginning at 50% and rising to full capacity for Finals weekend, the Ticket Resale Scheme has not been run this year.

Given HSBC’s ongoing support, charities such as Give It Your Max, The Dan Maskell Trust and Tennis First will still
receive funding this year.
