From new charity CEOs at Launchpad and Safe in Our World, to a Fundraising Manager for Simon on the Streets, here are five recent mover announcements.

Su Hamblyn takes up CEO role at Launchpad

Launchpad, Reading-based homelessness prevention charity, has announced the appointment of Su Hamblyn as its new Chief Executive. Hamblyn was Launchpad’s Director of Operations for six years before being appointed as Acting CEO when Ian Caren stepped down in October 2020. During her time at Launchpad, she has been instrumental in growing the charity’s services – which has included the introduction of a drop-in service for anyone with a housing or homelessness issue and increasing the number of vulnerable people supported by over 350%. Previously, Hamblyn was a senior manager in retail for 20 years and also held the role of Area Manager for a local housing association.

Geraint Hughes joins Crowdfunder as Chair & non-Executive Director

Crowdfunder has made two appointments to its senior leadership team. Geraint Hughes takes up the role of Chair and non-Executive Director, while Alex Marples becomes Chief Operating Officer. Hughes joins the crowdfunding platform following a 25-year career at Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance, where he led the Asia Pacific and South East Asia divisions respectively over the last 10 years. Marples joins having spent the last year spearheading the Government’s Covid-19 Test and Trace operations. He began his career in financial services, spending over 17 years at Domestic & General and rising to Operations Director, before shifting into the public sector.

Roz Amos joins Epworth Investment Management as Chief Investment Strategist

Epworth Investment Management (Epworth), a UK investment manager dedicated to working with churches and charities, has announced that Roz Amos has joined as Chief Investment Strategist. Amos will be responsible for all matters relating to the investment functions of Epworth Investment Management and the Central Finance Board of the Methodist Church, including defining and executing the investment strategy, asset allocation, and fund performance. Prior to joining Epworth, she worked at UBS Asset Management, chairing its Product Strategy Board. Before that, she was an investment consultant with Willis Towers Watson, where she started her career, working in both London and Sydney.

Simon on the Streets appoints Fundraising Manager

West-Yorkshire-based homelessness charity Simon on the Streets has made three new appointments, including Fundraising Manager. The charity has recruited Scotty Bell as Co-Production Lead, Leah Charlson as Fundraising Manager and Liz Knight as Outreach Team Leader. Charlson joins the charity with two years’ experience working in the third sector for Leeds United Foundation and St. Johns Hospice in Lancaster.

Gina Jackson joins Safe In Our World as CEO

Safe In Our World has appointed Gina Jackson OBE as CEO. A video games industry pioneer, Jackson received an OBE in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, and was a recent recipient of the MCV/Develop Women in Games award. She began her career in games development in 1992 and has worked for developers, publishers, and distributors covering console, PC, and mobile games. Most recently Development Director at Sold Out, Jackson will continue her association with GamesAid, stepping down as Vice-Chair but continuing as a trustee. She also remains on the board at NextGen Skills Academy, Visiting Professor in Games Industry and Business at Norwich University of the Arts and acts as an advisor to several games developers.
