Organised by the Community Foundation for Ireland, the distinctive characteristics of corporate philanthropy are defined as:
- Philanthropy is planned, strategic giving
- Philanthropy focuses on the cause of a problem rather than easing the symptoms
- Philanthropy provides financial capital to non profit organisations, not just expertise, time and engagement
- Philanthropy focuses on outcomes and is focused on the longer term and on sustainability
The nominations can come from corporates whose philanthropy is focused on local, regional or national projects in Ireland or overseas. The Community Foundation asks that nominated companies are contacted to confirm they are happy to have their name submitted.
All nominations must be submitted on the official nomination form on the Community Foundation website. The awards will take place early in 2020. Nomination forms should be emailed to hh*******@********on.ie before 5pm on Thursday 31 October 2019.
