Applegreen selects charity partners in Ireland

Service station company Applegreen has selected four charity partners in Ireland for 2018.
Four charities who work with children, Focus Ireland, Debra Ireland, Irish Youth Foundation and Food Cloud, will benefit from the Applegreen Charitable Fund’s activities throughout the year.
The main fundraising activity of the Fund is the ‘You Buy, We Give’ campaign which donates 1 cent every time a shop and fuel or a shop-only purchase is made at Applegreen’s service stations in Ireland. The Fund is further boosted by ongoing fund-raising activities and events organised by Applegreen staff and customers.

Funds are also donated through coin collection boxes and a large number of events such as car wash days, static cycles and marathons. To date the Fund has raised over €2 million and so far in 2018 has raised over €45,000.
Debra was supported last year and will be supported beyond 2018. Previous beneficiaries have included Barnardos, Irish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital which received nearly €600,000 for new equipment.
Applegreen won the Community Foundation for Ireland’s Corporate Philanthropist of the Year award in 2017.
