Virgin Money named official fundraising partner of Brighton Marathon Weekend

Virgin Money Giving has signed a three-year agreement with Grounded Events to be the official fundraising partner of the Brighton Marathon Weekend.

Virgin Money Giving takes over the event for 2018, and became the official fundraising partner on 9th April, immediately after the 2017 race and the date on which entries for the 2018 Brighton Marathon Weekend went on general sale. Through the event, Virgin Money Giving and Grounded Events are aiming to help runners raise £18 million over the next three years.

The Brighton Marathon Weekend was founded by former international athlete Tim Hutchings and by former Brighton club athlete, Tom Naylor in 2010. The marathon itself has raised over £35 million since the first race took place. The Brighton Marathon Weekend also encompasses The Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens Mini Mile Races, the BM10k and the Brighton Marathon Exhibition.

Tom Naylor, managing director of Grounded Events and event director of the Brighton Marathon Weekend said:
