ChariTable launch sees restaurants donate per booking
Restaurant booking service ChariTable Bookings, which gives to charity each time a booking is made through it, has officially launched.
The site currently lists more than 4,000 UK restaurants. Each time a customer books a table with one of them through charitablebookings.org or through the app, they can choose one of over 7,500 UK registered charities, and the restaurant will donated £1 to the charity for every diner in the party.
In addition to booking online, ChariTable Bookings allows people to call the restaurant directly when making reservations.
ChariTable Bookings is an initiative of The Global Charity Trust, which was set up by trustees Lord Fink and David Johnstone in 2011, and which has so far raised over £2m net to support hundreds of local and worldwide charity projects.
In addition to the £1 donations for charity for each diner in the party, once ChariTable Bookings receives confirmation from the restaurant the booker will receive 100 points. Once they have earned 4,000 points, they can have this converted into £20 restaurant vouchers or give the money to a charity of their choice.
David Johnstone, CEO and founder of ChariTable Bookings said:
“We created ChariTable Bookings as a platform to benefit not only charities but restaurants, corporates and users alike. A nice win-win all round.”
