New Lloyds Bank Foundation £1m funding programme to tackle domestic & sexual abuse
Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales has launched a new policy, practice and infrastructure focused grants programme, aimed at strengthening and supporting the domestic and sexual abuse sectors.
The £1m funding programme, called Transform, will award grants of up to £100,000 to a maximum of 10 charities that can demonstrate plans to:
- Influence policy at a local, regional or national level
- Build the evidence base through research and analysis around needs and identification of effective interventions
- Develop and share new models to help small and medium-sized specialist providers strengthen, grow and replicate
- Develop and support effective partnerships within and across sectors
The Foundation is now inviting bids from charities and is particularly interested in proposals of new ways for small and specialist services to make a greater impact. It will also prioritise projects that show the greatest potential in sharing learning and that have a clear plan to achieve this.
According to the Foundation, Transform grants will not be awarded for service delivery or to support the development of individual organisations, which will both continue to be covered by the Foundation’s Invest and Enable programmes.
The Transform programme is part of a £3m commitment over three years by the Foundation to strengthen the sectors and improve responses to domestic and sexual abuse. It builds on the work the Foundation began last year, through its funding of Women’s Aid Federation of England, Imkaan and Welsh Women’s Aid.
Paul Streets OBE, chief executive of Lloyds Bank Foundation, said:
“Tackling domestic and sexual abuse has always been a key priority for us; in 2015 alone we distributed £5.3m in grants to great frontline charities in this field. But we know these sectors are under real pressure, seeking a bigger voice, to strengthen, grow, develop and innovate. Through Transform we hope to help support the sector to make a greater and long-term impact.”
