£350k funding offered for community energy projects

Howard Lake | 23 May 2016 | News

M&S Energy is, for the second year running, offering community groups the chance to apply for funding to install renewable technology, battery storage or energy efficiency measures.
Applications are being accepted from any not-for-profit organisation in the UK is eligible. This includes charities, sports clubs, libraries, schools, village halls and amateur dramatic societies.
A shortlist will be drawn up from applicants, and winners will be decided by public vote, with customers and the public voting for the projects that they believe will offer the greatest benefit and impact.
This year, for the first time, projects will also be able to simultaneously crowdfund with Crowdfunder, raising money and support from the beginning.
In 2015 M&S Energy received over 240 applications, shortlisted 136 projects and announced 26 winners.
