Online community Just Act has become part of Crowdfunder, taking over the day-to-day running of the Crowdfunder website and announcing an extra £50,000 of funding.
Just Act has created the Just Act Community Fund, which will distribute £50,000 to community projects across England and Wales. It will award grants of up to £1,000 to crowdfunding projects that ‘are creating a buzz in their local area and changing lives for the better’.
The fund is for projects raising up to £10,000 that can demonstrate public support by hitting 25% of their target. To apply to the Just Act Community Fund, projects must be added to Crowdfunder, and extra funds must be applied for on the Just Act page before 31st August. If a project is eligible, the grant fund will be applied.
