Fenwick supports Brain Tumour Research with designer hat auction

Fenwick of Bond Street is marking its 125th anniversary with a millinery exhibition which will conclude with an online auction for Brain Tumour Research.
The exhibition will feature 13 bespoke pieces, with one hat marking each decade since the store opened. It will be display in the Bond Street shop from 19 May to 2 June.
Online auction house Paddle8 will handle the auction. Customers will be able to bid on each hat at the exhibition or online. Winning bids will receive their bespoke hat, a sketch from the milliner and an exclusive signed collector’s item hat box, illustrated by Clym Evernden.
In addition to the auction, Fenwick shoppers will be able to donate a discretionary £1 on every transaction in the store, and in two in-store restaurants.

Wear A Hat Day

One of Brain Tumour Research’s major fundraising campaigns is its annual Wear A Hat Day in March, hence the partnership. Indeed, Philip Treacy OBE, a patron of Brain Tumour Research, has designed the piece for the present decade.
Both he and milliner Stephen Jones OBE have previously created exclusive brooches to support “Wear A Hat Day”, as have fellow couture milliners featured in the exhibition, Rachel Trevor Morgan and Vivien Sheriff.
Brain Tumour Research is an umbrella charity, working in collaboration with member charities around the UK. With its umbrella groups and fundraisers across the UK, it raised over £4 million in 2015.
