Global Gift Foundation has announced that singer and TV personality Cheryl is to receive its Philanthropist Award this year, in recognition of her work with Cheryl’s Trust.
Cheryl set up the charity to support disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, and over the next two years it will focus on helping people living in the North East of England.
Other award winners include In addition Ronan Keating, who will receive The Global Gift Excellence Award, for his work with the Marie Keating Foundation; Laeticia Hallyday, who will also receive The Global Gift Philanthropist Award; and Line Renaud, who will be awarded The Global Gift Humanitarian Award.
The awards are to be presented by Global Gift’s honorary chair Eva Longoria at the 7th annual Global Gift Gala in Paris, on 9th May.
Cheryl said:

“I am honoured to be this year’s recipient of the Global Gift Gala Philanthropist Award. I’m proud of where I grew up but I’m only too aware of the challenges that young people face. I want to give back and help young people who feel like they’ll never achieve anything reach their dreams and live a happy life.”

This year additional charities set to benefit from the gala include The Eva Longoria Foundation, UNICEF France, and La Bonne Etoile.
