Ewan Hastings, a professional fundraiser for the past 20 years, has published an ebook, ‘Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Success Top Tips: Valuable Lessons from an Old-Dog Fundraiser’, that shares tips learned from his 13 years as a trust fundraiser.
It is designed as a day-to-day handbook for anyone raising money from charitable trusts and foundations. It is available on Kindle.
Hastings has worked as a fundraiser at nine UK charities, both large and small. He was one of the first fundraisers to hold the Institute of Fundraising’s Certificate in Fundraising Management and Diploma in Fundraising Management professional qualifications. He was formerly on the organising committee of the Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Trusts, Foundations and Statutory Special Interest Group and was Chair of the Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Corporate Special Interest Group.
The book is the first in a series of top tips books on various aspects of fundraising which Hastings will publish over the next few months.
Hastings covers essential skills ranging from writing funding applications and research, to site visits and staying organised for more effective fundraising. He writes in a step-by-step manual with the aim of helping you maximise your efforts and income.

He added that this was the book he wish he’d had access to “when I started out as a trusts fundraiser all those years ago!”
