£725k in funding for those who care for the British countryside

The Prince’s Countryside Fund is offering £725,000 in grants to organisations and charities that support people who care for the British countryside.
Applications for up to £50,000 are being invited.
So far the Fund, set up in 2010, has given £6 million in grants to 135 projects across the UK, benefiting 160,000 people.
Claire Saunders, Director of The Prince’s Countryside Fund, said:

“Rural and farming communities are under immense pressure at the moment. We are looking for projects which will have a long-term positive impact to help sustain our rural areas and encourage enterprise that will help the people who care for our countryside and make it tick”.

Funding is available for projects that address one or more of three key themes:
1. thriving rural communities
2. rural livelihoods
3. farmers of the future
Applications for funding from The Prince’s Countryside Fund close at 5pm on 8 October 2015.
