Global Fundraising Awards now open to all fundraisers worldwide

Howard Lake | 10 August 2015 | News

This year’s Global Fundraising Awards will for the first time be open to entries for and nominations from any fundraiser around the world. Previously the awards featured only the winners of national fundraising awards around the world.
The Resource Alliance, which holds the Global Awards for Fundraising at its International Fundraising Congress in the Netherlands, has changed the approach in order to “better reflect the global breadth and depth of the global fundraising community” and to recognise and celebrate even more diverse voices on the world stage.
There are four categories in the Global Awards for Fundraising – two for organisations and two for individuals.

Awards for organisations

Big Impact, Small Budget – recognising significant impact for a relatively small financial investment.
Innovative Fundraising Campaign – recognising original and creative ideas in a fundraising context.

Awards for individuals

The Global Fundraiser – recognising fundraisers who have shown excellence and best practice, and have made an outstanding contribution to the sector.
Volunteer of the Year – recognising volunteers who have assisted through efforts and dedication of time to an organisation and fundraising cause.
The closing date for entries is 14 August 2015. Shortlisted entries will receive a free place at the IFC 2015 which takes place in October and will experience the opportunity to showcase their campaign at the Global Awards for Fundraising ceremony.
The winners of each category receive a trophy and certificate. All shortlisted candidates are featured in a casebook which is distributed to approximately 1,000 guests at the ceremony, and publicised through the Resource Alliance website.
Steven Inman, International Programmes Director of the Resource Alliance, said:
