Foundation adds managing grantmaking service to help other trusts

Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland is extending its services by offering a management service for other grantmaking trusts.
For example, it is providing a management and assessment service for Cattanach Trust to cover the trust manager’s maternity leave period. Cattanach Trust, which provides grants to charities in Scotland working with children in their early years, appointed the Foundation initially to provide the cover for six months.
The Foundation will manage the grant-making process for Cattanach, assessing grant applications and evaluating funded projects.
This extension of its services is part of Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland‘s strategy to set up a social enterprise to generate additional income from opportunities such as this. It plans to offer both short term support, such as for maternity leave cover or to help grantmakers clear bottlenecks, and long term support for funders, such as providing an audit to help an organisation aiming to change or improve its activity.
Mary E Craig, Strategic Advisor at the Foundation, said:

“We are delighted to have been commissioned by Cattanach Trust to provide this service. The Foundation has gathered significant skills and expertise over its 30 year history and we want to share that with others in our sector.
“Our aim is not just to be the best grant-maker we can be but to work alongside others so we can all be the best grant-makers we can be. We aim to provide a first class service to anyone who might require our support and input, based on our core values of relationships, integrity, leadership and independence.”
