Free pancakes donated as Lent generosity challenge begins

Free pancakes were handed out this morning in London’s Shoreditch to mark the launch tomorrow of 40acts, a Lent generosity challenge.

Giving something up is the traditional approach of Christians who mark the period of Lent. 40acts encourages people instead to ‘give out’, to benefit others.

The pancakes were given out today to over 500 commuters and local residents around Boxpark Shoredtich to mark Shrove Tuesday. The international charity campaign 40acts has over 50,000 participants this year who will take up a daily generosity challenge throughout Lent.
