R Fundraising acquired by Fundraising Initiatives
Individual giving specialists Fundraising Initiatives Group has acquired telephone fundraising and outsourcing agency R Fundraising.
As a result Fundraising Initiatives will boost its stewardship and telephone-based capacity by over 200 professional fundraisers, with offices in Dunfermline and Manchester. R Fundraising, in turn, will be able to offer its clients an enhanced range of products and services, from specialist face-to-face fundraising services through to lotteries, payroll giving and payment handling.
The agreement was concluded on 23 January and led by Martin Jervis, Chief Operations Officer at Fundraising Initiatives. He said that the acquisition would help drive the group’s expansion internationally. He added:
“This acquisition reflects our commitment to helping charities achieve the maximum possible return on every penny they spend on donor acquisition, management and stewardship.
“Hugh McCaw, who is himself a recognised fundraising expert and longstanding Fellow of the IoF, built a strong brand and along with his leadership team created a reputation for exceptional expertise, very highly regarded by its clients and the sector as a whole. Fundraising Initiatives is determined to cherish that legacy and to help the R Fundraising brand build on it”.
R Fundraising remains “an autonomous culture and brand”
R Fundraising will continue to operate under its current leadership team and promises “no disruption to [our] clients’ business continuity”.
Hugh McCaw becomes Director, Strategic Accounts, with a focus on ensuring continuity and client support, working with Gordon Michie, Managing Director.

“Fundraising Initiatives is the right choice for our clients and us. We remain an autonomous culture and brand. The organisations complement each other and I am sure that will become more evident to the sector going forward. I am personally delighted to remain in the business as I can continue to serve charities and innovate as I have done in the past.”
