Cultural open air walks to raise funds for museums and galleries
Art Miles is a new fundraising initiative from the Art Fund to help raise funds for museums and galleries. Instead of walking round the exhibition halls of a museum or gallery, these walks offer you the chance to walk round the grounds of these institutions and raise funds for them.
The events offer a combination of health and fitness and cultural appreciation, and access to areas not usually open to the public.

The first three events take place on 22 March 2015 in London. Art Miles walkers can visit parts of Chiswick House and Gardens that are not normally open to the public, experience falconry at Dulwich Picture Gallery and come away with their own artwork from the William Morris Gallery.
Everyone taking part will also receive “a lovely Art Miles bag on arrival”.
The registration fee is £20 for adults. Up to four children aged 16 and under can walk for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
The money raised will be donated to the local gallery or museum, minus “a small admin fee to the Art Fund” for organising and promoting the events.
The Art Fund suggests other ways to raise even more funds, including dressing up in fancy dress and inviting family and friends to sponsor you as you walk round.
Stephen Deuchar, director of the Art Fund, said:
“As the national fundraising charity for art, we hope that Art Miles will galvanise both existing and new supporters, helping communities to enjoy beautiful buildings, parks and art on their doorsteps.”
