The great Fundraising Bake Off
It may have been only a week since the last episode of the Great British Bake Off, but there are plenty of charities giving donors the opportunity to raise much kneaded dough and get in on a slice of the action…
Below are some of the tastiest campaigns:
1. Big Barnardo’s Bake Off
Big Barnardo’s Bake Off was held last year, and had celebrity chefs James Morton and Mark Greenaway judging the competition entrants at the BBC Good Food Show.
2. Bake it Better

Bake it Better by Great Ormond Street Hospital launched this week (13-19th October). The week long campaign is asking people across the UK to hold a bake sale to raise vital funds for the new clinical building at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

3. Bake for International Women’s Day
Concern Worldwide meanwhile used International Women’s Day earlier in the year to push Bake for International Women’s Day
4. Brain Tumour Charity Bake Off
The Brain Tumour Charity Bake Off for brain tumours encouraged supporters to hold a tea party with home baked goods. They also provided a handy guide full of tips for fundraising and cupcake recipes.
5. Breakthrough Breast Cancer Breakthrough Bake Off
The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Breakthrough Bake Off encourages participants to sign up to their fundraising kit and choose one day in October to sell baked their goodies, people who register have a chance to win a kitchen aid mixer.
6. Scope’s Bake a Difference
Scope’s Bake a Difference gives donors a chance to receive a snazzy cookie cutter when you email them to enter this year’s fundraiser.
7. The Big Cake Bake
The Big Cake Bake by NDCS was held earlier in the year to coincide with Deaf Awareness Week (19th-25th May)
8. Bake for Bumps
Bake for Bumps by Sparks initially launched in May. However, it was also pushed once again when the new series of Great British Bake Off aired.
9. Baking It Better
The Children’s Hospital Charity held Baking it Better in April as part of the wider “Make it better” campaign.
10. Get Baking for Beatson
Beatson Cancer Charity recently launched its campaign Bake it for the Beatson which is running throughout November.
