If you looking for data on companies based in the UK, then check out the Fame database, which is available to use free of charge at the City Business Library, in London. Fame includes data on 2.8 million active companies registered in the UK and Ireland, including:

• Up to 10 years’ of financial data per company

• Information on current and previous directors

• Company contact details

You can also create your own tailored company contacts list and download up to 750 companies per day for free.

They also have other databases. If you don’t have easy access to London, then check out other libraries near you. You usually have to visit one of the libraries to access this type of database.
