Belfast City Council offers a range of community grants
Belfast City Council has set a number of summer deadlines for a range of community development grants.
Grants are available for revenue costs of buildings, capacity building grants, generalist advice grants and small development grants for festivals, arts and sports. The details are:
- Revenue Grant for a Community Building: contributes to the running costs for community buildings to enable groups to deliver a broad based programme to meet community need and support community development. The maximum grant is likely to be £20,000 per annum.
- Capacity Building Grant: funding leadership within the community development sector; to help meet the capacity building needs of member groups and advocate for the area or residents; the maximum grant is likely to be £50,000 per annum.
The deadline for both is 12 noon, Thursday 10 July
- Generalist Advice Grant: funding appropriate consortia to provide generalist advice services across Belfast. Applications are open to local advice consortia with members registered with either CAB or Advice NI to provide generalist advice services. Applicants must meet the Department of Social Development’s (DSD) Opening Doors strategic objectives.
Deadline: 12 noon, Monday 4 August 2014.

- Small Development Grants: funding is available for festivals, arts and heritage, community safety, good relations, St Patrick’s Day, parks events, sports events and large and small sports development grants.
Deadline: 12 noon on Wednesday 2 July 2014.
