Lloyds Banking Group raises £4m for Alzheimer charities
Staff at Lloyds Banking Group have raised £4 million for Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer Scotland in just 17 months. This is double the original two year target.
The partnership began in January 2013 with the launch of the Live Well campaign, the two charities’ first national support programme for people with dementia and their carers.
It reached the £2 million target within the first year, so the additional money being raised earmarked for more support materials for carers. Any funds raised above the current total of £4 million will support the Dementia Research Leaders Programme, which is looking at prevention and trying to find a cure for the condition.
Fundraising activities included a coast to coast cycle challenge in Costa Rica and ‘Tea and Talk’ events in branches.
