DIY database screening

I was walking in Highgate recently, and passed a road whose name I recognised.
Stormont Road has lots of expensive properties – often selling for £4,000,000 – £5,000,000 or so. I subsequently read an article about The Bishops Avenue – “millionaires row”, which is nearby – just the other side of the golf course. Houses on The Bishops Avenue are even more expensive, yet many of them are empty and falling into a state of disrepair.
That got me thinking about how there are be lots of people with money to spare. It is always good if fundraisers can identify such people. That reminded me of an idea I had a while back about showing people how they can undertake their own database screening, to identify some of their wealthier supporters.
While it takes a while to build up a database of wealthy people, it is relatively easy to build up a database of interesting looking postcodes, by identifying properties with £1,000,000+ (or whatever) prices. The screening is also relatively straightforward. I might suggest that for an Institute of Fundraising meeting.
Would anyone be interested in attending?
