2014 DoGooder Awards open to recognise video for social good
The DoGooder Awards are once again open for entries, recognising the creative and effective use of video in promoting social good.
Developed by See3Communications, the awards, now in their 8th year, are run in partnership with NTEN, YouTube, The National Alliance for Media and Culture and the National Youth Media Network. They are sponsored by Cisco.
Prizes
One winner will receive a cash prize from Cisco. The National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture will also award additional prizes to the winner of the new Youth Media category.
The winners will see their videos featured on the prominent YouTube Spotlight Channel.
The National Alliance for Media Arts and Culture will present prizes, and contest winners will also receive free registration to the Nonprofit Technology Conference, run by NTEN.
New for 2014
This year, the awards include for the first time younger do-gooders aged 12 to 24 “who best communicated their thoughts on pressing social issues in a way that inspired others”.
Michael Hoffman, CEO of See3, said:

“When we started the awards eight years ago, no one knew why they needed to focus on video. Now, the majority of all bandwidth is video and video messaging has become more important than ever for nonprofit organizations around the world. This year, we are pleased to present the Most Inspiring Youth Media Award, where we can showcase the up-and-coming video makers dedicated to social change.”
Who can enter?
Only videos submitted from organisations registered in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia are eligible for the contest.
Award categories
- The ImpactX Award: honouring those videos that have demonstrated impact for their causes.
- The Best Nonprofit Video Award: honouring nonprofit organisations using video to make change.
