Bidtech’s iPads at events raise £17m for charities in 2013

Fundraising technology company Bidtech has helped charities raise over £17 million during 2013. Its technology has been used at over 300 charity events during that time, raising funds for charities such as Elton John Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Children in Need and the Action Against Hunger Philippines Emergency Appeal.
Bidtech‘s iPad-based technology encourages guests at events to make pledges and take part in activities such as silent auctions. Guests use them to bid for auction items, view details of all the auction lots and see a leader board showing the highest bidders for each lot.
As well as expanding to the USA this year, in November the company, established in 2011, launched Bidtech Mobile. This enables guests at fundraising events to used Bidtech’s tools on their own phones. Indeed, this expands the pool of potential donors because supporters no longer need to be present at a charity auction: they can take part and make bids from wherever they are.
