Winners of first Researchers in Fundraising Awards announced

The inaugural Researchers in Fundraising (RiF) Awards were held on Monday at a London event. The winners were announced by Elly Bohme and Alison Montgomery, who founded RiF, the special interest group for prospect researchers, twenty years ago.
The event was sponsored by prospect and wealth research specialists Prospecting for Gold and Factary.
The Prospecting for Gold Award for Prospect Research Innovation
Winner: Stephen Jones, University of Leicester, for using LinkedIn to drive lead generation and enhance the major gift prospect pool.
Runner up: Anna Behan, Edward Brown and Caroline Callaghan, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, for developing a prospect reporting system to manage, track and promote campaign reporting through SAS.
The Factary Award for Prospect Research Impact
Winner: Caroline Callaghan, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, for driving solicitation through research: identifying, profiling and promoting a prospect to secure a £10m gift.
Runner up: Rhoda McIntire, University of St Andrews, for successfully identifying, profiling and proposing attendees for the university’s 600th Anniversary Dinner, which raised £350,000 for scholarships.
The Researchers in Fundraising Awards will run again in 2014. UK Fundraising will announce when they are open.
