Successful applicant

Blyth-based Headway Arts has received a £12,800 grant from the Fund which will enable it to extend its performing arts work which improves the confidence and social skills of Northumberland residents.

Frances Castle, chief executive of the charity, which has worked with around 2,000 Northumberland residents in the past year, said that it will enable them to take on a part time arts engagement officer.

“What makes the Esmée Fairbairn grant so special,” said Castle, “is that it encourages experiment and vision – we would never have been able to access it without the support and encouragement of the Community Foundation and we are very grateful to them.”

The closing date for applications is midday on 17 October 2013.
