thankQ helps Fulham Palace Trust build a sustainable future

Howard Lake | 13 August 2013 | Newswire

Land at Fulham was first acquired by the Bishop of London in AD 704, and Fulham Palace was the home of the Bishops of London from the medieval period to 1973. The Palace is steeped in archaeological, political, religious and botanical history. Today, the palace is managed by the Fulham Palace Trust (FPT) which delivers a diverse programme of educational and cultural events for visitors of all ages.

Since 2005 Fulham Palace has received significant funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to help restore the building and gardens and increase opportunities for learning and community involvement as more and more of Fulham Palace’s wonderful history and beauty is restored and renewed. However, with running costs of £1,000,000 per year, and the need to complete the final stage of repair works, the trustees have developed an ambitious plan to generate revenue and capital funds to enable the Palace and its gardens to achieve their full potential.  FPT has appointed thankQ to help manage the resulting income and ongoing supporter data.

thankQ will help FPT effectively manage supporter types which include members, patrons, individual supporters, volunteers, schools and corporate organisations, to name a few. With thankQ, FPT will have an holistic view of its entire supporter base, enabling the team to identify any relationship overlaps – such as a member who may also be a volunteer and a fundraiser – and ensuring that all supporter communications accurately reflect these relationships.

FPT is also seeking to raise £5.5 million pounds by 2015. Funds will be raised from major donors, Trusts, Companies and individuals, partly through a membership scheme which was launched in December 2012 and which will be managed using the thankQ membership module. Other income will be raised via fundraising streams and from Trust applications. thankQ’s CRM module will not only capture donation data, but also manage and track funding applications and awards via the Trusts module.

Sian Harrington, Chief Executive of FPT told us, “Fulham Palace offers such a vast range of activities and opportunities for supporter engagement that we needed a system that could help us to easily build a clear picture of  all of our supporters and tailor our activities and communications in a personal and relevant way. Seeing how some of our peers already used thankQ during the selection process both reassured us and helped us to define our business processes. With thankQ’s help, we are looking forward to building a secure and sustainable future for Fulham Palace.”
