Nominations sought for Fellowships of the Institute of Fundraising

Howard Lake | 16 May 2013 | News

The Institute of Fundraising is once again inviting nominations for Fellowships. These are fundraisers who have a track record of commitment to the fundraising profession and to the Institute, "above and beyond their day job".

Peter Lewis, Chief Executive at the Institute, said: “Becoming a Fellow of the Institute is a badge of honour and recognition for a substantial contribution to fundraising and to the Institute of Fundraising.  As individuals, Fellows offer advice, ./guidance and support to trustees, staff and IoF members.”

Approximiately three to five Fellows are appointed each year.

How to nominate

To qualify as a Fellow, a person must already be a member of the Institute, and to have demonstrably contributed both to fundraising in general and the Institute of Fundraising specifically.

Nominations must be received by the Institute of Fundraising by midday on 5 June 2013. These are then considered by a panel of Trustees and other members.

Fellowships are announced at the Institute AGM at the National Convention in July.

Nominations are also open for Honorary Fellowship, which is awarded to those who have made a substantial contribution to fundraising and are not members of the Institute of Fundraising. The deadline for nominations for these is the same.

UK Fundraising's Howard Lake was last year appointed as a Fellow of the Institute.
