Lockton UK chooses Pancreatic Cancer Action as charity of the year
Lockton UK, part of the world's largest private insurance broker, has chosen Pancreatic Cancer Action as its charity of the year for 2013.
The decision was made after two rounds of voting by the 750 Associates of Lockton UK. It is an appropriate choice: Jack Lockton, who founded the company in Kansas City in 1966, died from pancreatic cancer in 2004.
Pancreatic Cancer Action was founded in 2010 by a rare five-year survivor of the disease. It aims to improve the currently very poor survival rates through medical education, greater public awareness, better disease information and research specifically to improve early diagnosis.

Since 2009, Lockton Associates in the UK have raised more than £350,000 for four charity partners: Help for Heroes, Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimers Society and Whizz-Kidz.
