Healthy Planet to launch crowdfunding site for conservation causes

Environment and community charity Healthy Planet is launching a crowdfunding site next month for UK environmental and conservation organisations. In particular it is designed for the "less well publicised projects".

The site, Conservation Community, will let grassroots causes and organisations promote their projects to an international audience and enable them to donate and share their message. The site will charge 10% of donations handled to cover its costs.

The platform will offer a range of tools and approaches such as gamification (with conservation 'badges' and leader boards), Google Maps, and gift vouchers to help organisations achieve their fundraising aims.

Healthy Planet is looking for more organisations to list their projects on the site. To be eligible they must be a UK conservation organisation or project that takes place on some kind of protected area, and which has "clear and measurable impacts in fostering sustained or improved conservation in the area".
