Blue Cross to benefit from Help-A-Dog-A-Thon Facebook app

Samsung Electronics has created a Help-A-Dog-A-Thon Facebook app to benefit pet charity Blue Cross. The app lets users adopt their own virtual rescue dog and in doing so generate a donation to Blue Cross from Samsung.

The app has been created to mark Samsung Electronics' 20 years of supporting the annual Crufts dog show.

Adopt a virtual rescue dog

The app involves ‘adopting’ and caring for your own virtual rescue dog. You need to ensure that it has everything it needs to be happy and healthy, from taking it for a walk to buying it a new ball.

For every virtual dog ‘adopted,’ Samsung will make a donation towards a health check for a Blue Cross rescue dog. To ‘adopt’ a virtual dog, all you have to do it ‘like’ the app.

Samsung is also demonstrating a number of other dog-related apps on its stand at Crufts.
