Eight social entrepreneur awards up for grabs

Awards for social entrepreneurs in Ireland worth up €130,000 for individuals are open for applications up 18th February.
Social Entrepreneurs Ireland is looking for social entrepreneurs who have an innovative solution to a societal challenge, who have a project/organisation that is up and running with evidence of activities undertaken and who aim to significantly scale and grow the impact of what they are doing.
Social Entrepreneurs Ireland will choose eight social entrepreneurs who have the most potential to create significant social impact. There are two programmes for the awards – Impact which will provide €130,000 over two years plus €70,000 of other support to social entrepreneurs who are established and have the potential to grow, and Elevator which will provide €22,000 in growth capital and €10,000 worth of other support for ideas that are at an earlier stage.

The process of assessing the awards will go through various stages with the winners announced in September.
Previous winners have included a wide variety of projects related to social welfare, employment and culture.
