Nominations have opened for the JustGiving Awards 2013, designed to recognise the most effective and inspiring users of the online giving site.

There are 10 categories in next year’s awards, now in their fourth year. They celebrate the achievements of individual fundraisers, companies and charities.

Over the past 12 months the site has been used to raise over £200 million for good causes. Since it launched in 2001, it has helped over 12 million people raise over £1 billion for more than 12,000 charities.

Seven of the awards will be decided by a judging panel, and categories such as Huffington Post Celebrity Fundraiser of the Year and Charity of the Year will be open to a public vote.

JustGiving has produced a promotion pack for charities to explain why they should enter and how they can promote themselves to secure as many votes as possible.

There is no charge to enter, and the awards can be entered by anyone – individual, charity or company – that has used the site to fundraise over the past year.

The closing date for entries and nominations is 1 February 2013.

Anne-Marie Huby, MD of JustGiving said: “Each year we are overwhelmed by the inspiring fundraising stories we hear and it is truly an honour and a pleasure to be able to recognise these through the JustGiving awards. If you know someone that has achieved something extraordinary for a charity, please nominate them today.”
