Lidl chooses CLIC Sargent as charity of the year

Supermarket Lidl has chosen children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent as its charity of the year and aims to raise £150,000. The partnership begins today, and the fundraising will involve Lidl staff taking part in marathons, gathering donations from product sales, holding bucket collections, and organising fundraising events.

Initial activities in the 15-month partnership include:

• a donation of 30p from the sale of every pack of Oaklands British apples

• a donation of £1 every new Facebook fan this week.

• a further donation of £10,000 when Lidl’s Facebook fanbase reaches 200,000: it currently stands at 193,666.
