NSPCC's Alex McDowell to be new Chair of Remember A Charity
Alex McDowell, Head of Legacy and Tribute Fundraising at the NSPCC, is to become the new Chair of legacy fundraising campaign Remember A Charity. He takes over from Stephen George, who himself ran NSPCC’s legacy fundraising activities before joining Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres.
The charity consortium, hosted by the Institute of Fundraising, aims to increase legacy giving.
McDowell has helped develop the campaign over the past few years through the Campaign Council and more recently as a member of the Campaign Executive.
He said of his appointment: “I’m looking forward to working with our members and the sector to make gifts in Wills the social norm.”
He has worked as a professional fundraiser for 14 years, starting in the higher education sector. Before the NSPCC he worked for The Shakespeare Hospice and Christian Aid.
