Small Charities Week raises over £37,000 for small charities

Last month’s Small Charity Week 2012, with its dedicated Fundraising Day on 14 June, has raised over £37,757 for small charities across the UK.
Organisers The FSI, which support small charities (those with an income under £1.5 million) throughout the year, said that “this has been the largest Small Charity Week to date”. They announced the following fundraising results from the week:
* Invest in ME – won a £200 donation for winning the Small Charity Week online pledge competition with 114 separate pledges of support for their organisation
* Forest Sensory Services – won a £150 donation for holding the biggest Small Charity Quiz
This has been the largest Small Charity Week to date:
* The eBay Charity Checkout – raised £17,522.48 for the winners of the competition, who got to have their charities featured on eBay during each day of Small Charity Week.
* The Biggest Small Charity Week eBay Auction – in its first year it raised over £12,500 for the 42 charities that took part.
* The Biggest Small Charity Week Quiz – raised £6,177 “and we are still counting!”
* The local Street Collections, organised by the FSI, raised a current total of £1,557.26
The Small Charity Car Draw is still in progress, so the overall total is bound to be significantly higher. Now into its fourth year it has raised over £219,000 for 817 small charities so far. Last year the average raised by a charity was £423 but the highest was over £5,000. The winner of the draw receives a new Kia Picanto, thanks to the support of Kia Romford and GoCompare.
In addition 103 hours of free expert advice was given by 41 advisors on Big Advice Day, which was hosted by UBS and sponsored by The Gallery Partnership.
